This client’s hot tub mandated that a 50 amp GFI breaker and a sub panel with a 240 volt, 50 amp disconnect be installed to run the heater and jet system for the hot tub. The 50 amps required for the hot tub was hard-wired from the disconnect to the home’s main electrical panel. This did not need to be run underground due to the hot tub’s close proximity to the house.
